Are Reading Workbooks Beneficial?

Aside from the storybook and board game, each level of the Little Lion Reading Program contains a workbook. It provides a variety of lessons to help users gain or improve upon reading skills. The workbook is easy to use, and it requires no background knowledge or preparation by the instructor. This helps to make the Little Lion Reading Program very user friendly. Some of the features include:

Cut and paste– The cut and paste worksheets that are included in most of the workbooks give the child a chance to learn reading skills and enjoy a fun activity while improving dexterity at the same time. These types of work pages break up the monotony of pencil to paper.

Assessments– Assessments are provided so that the instructor can have a clear understanding of what the child knows and what areas they need to improve in.

Additional short stories– The Little Lion Reading Program workbook features additional short stories followed by a comprehension lesson. These stories give the child more reading practice and the chance to gain different skills with reading being the focal point.

Writing skills– Children will have the opportunity to focus or handwriting, sentence structure, or parts of speech, depending on the age and skill level of the child.
